Following a lengthy illness, Silvia Alphonse, 92, sister of CyberNews Subscribers Adelaide Alphonse Jones (Panama), Alford Alphonse (Florida) and Ivan Alphonse (Texas) and aunt of CyberNews Webmaster Walter St. Jones (Florida) and CyberNews Subscribers Wesley Jones (Panama) and Arlene Austin (Virginia), cousin of CyberNews Subscribers Amelia Spooner (Florida) and Beverly Oglivie (Maryland), passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 in Panama. “Mama Silvia” as she was fondly called, was a retired nurse and an active member of the Wesley Methodist Church. She was the daughter of the late Rev. Dr. Ephraim Alphonse and Philibert Alphonse. A celebration of her life will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, April 29 at the Rio Abajo Methodist Church, located on 13th Street, Rio Abajo. In addition to the above subscribers, she is survived by a daughter Ines Concepcion; son Rosendo Alphonse; daughter-in-law Odete Alphonse, grandson Michael and great-granddaughter Bryanna, sisters Lilia Francis and Philiberta Isaacs; several other nieces and nephews, in laws, and cousins.
Following a brief illness, Conrad Wynter Sr. of Greenlawn, New York, passed away on July 3, 2013. Viewing and Funeral Services were held on Monday, July 8, 2013 at the Lutheran Church of the
Epiphany in Hempstead, New York. Interment followed at Pinelawn Memorial Park, Farmingdale, New York. The Graduate Center, City University of New York, mourns the loss of student and
colleague Conrad Wynter and extends our sympathies to his family. A PhD candidate in Developmental Psychology, his selfless dedication to his ideals will be sorely missed by our

and cousins. He was predeceased by his mother Emeline Bryce-Laporte on November 17, 2008.
